ECOPA Paper makes SSRN's Top Ten download list for Political Economy
Chicago, USA The research paper, 'Infrastructure and Economic Growth in the Middle East and North Africa', co-authored by Charles Vellutini, ECOPA’s Managing Director and Stéphane Straub, ECOPA Associate, along with Paul Noumba Um, was recently listed on Social Science Research Network's Top Ten download list for Political Economy: Government Expenditures & Related Policies.

ECOPA participates in International Tax Dialogue
Istanbul, Turkey Charles Vellutini, Managing Director of ECOPA, joined tax administrators and senior officials from 15 countries throughout Europe and Asia, to share experiences and lessons learned from both implementation and operation of risk-based tax assessment systems. Risk-based audit is a key element of modernizing tax administration in the region, and various systems are either being implemented or developed by several CIS countries. In partnership with the World Bank Group and International Tax Dialogue (ITD), the purpose of the conference is to bring together these practitioners to establish a forum for future cooperation.

Evaluation Presented at the Hague
The Hague, Netherlands ECOPA consultants, Jean-Marie Burgaud and Maria Rosa Morán recently completed an evaluation of SNV Peru. Team Leader, Jean-Marie Burgaud, along with ECOPA’s managing director, Charles Vellutini, presented the final report to the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) in The Hague.

WAEMU mission launched
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso ECOPA consultants, Charles Vellutini, Frédéric Puech and Luc Veyssière are currently in Ouagadougou to launch the Study for the calculation of marginal effective tax rates in WAEMU’s member countries. The team will be quantitatively evaluating the fiscal burden on capital investment and its impact on production costs and competitiveness in each country. Learn more about this WAEMU mission

Luc Veyssiere Joins ECOPA staff
Bastia, France ECOPA is excited to announce the newest addition to our core team, Project Manager, Luc Veyssiere. Luc is an exceptionally gifted quantitative economist who specializes in econometric modeling. He has published several articles in leading economics journals including the European Review of Agricultural Economics and the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. Luc obtained his Diplôme d’Ingénieur des Techniques Agricoles at ENESAD in France and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in the United States. Most recently, he recently obtained his PhD in Economics from Iowa State University. For his first mission as part of the ECOPA team, Luc will be joining Charles Vellutini and Frédéric Puech on their upcoming project: “Study of Marginal effective tax rates in WAEMU member countries.”
