ECOPA has been selected to participate in the development of a computable general equilibrium model of the Corsican economy, in collaboration with the Università di Corsica. This model will allow us to evaluate the impact on the Corsican economy of various shocks, such as fiscal reforms or changes in tourism demand, external aid or transport costs.

2011 - Central Africa
Client: European Commission/TradeCom
For the European Commission, ECOPA is developing an economic model in order to evaluate the net fiscal impact of the Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union in the eight countries of the Central African region (Congo – Brazzaville, DRC, São Tomé & Principe, Gabon, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Chad and Central African Republic).

This project aims to provide investors with relevant economics information to guide their decisions. To do so, ECOPA’s experts are in charge of conducting a diagnosis of the availability and quality of data on the factors of production costs within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).

2010 - Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG)

For the European Commission, ECOPA has assisted the member states of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) in deciding the future direction of the MSG's trade agreement. ECOPA has provided recommendations on a road map for the MSG trade integration process.

2010 - Pacific ACP States (PACPS)

The overall objective of this project is to assist PACPS to prepare their EPA trade in goods market access offers. For this project, ECOPA has constructed/updated the EPA Data Tool used to formulate trade in goods offers; and train the 7 PACPS on how to use/update the Data Tool.

2010 - Sudan
Clients: Maxwell Stamp, European Commission
For the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Sudan, ECOPA developed up a data tool for treatment and analysis of trade data during the negotiations of the Economic Partnership Agreement's with the European Union and WTO accession talks. Two training workshops (one on trade policy modelling, one on the data tool) were organised for senior Ministry staff.

Based on the Cameroon CGE model developed by ECOPA for the EC, ECOPA has delivered a four-day training program for senior EC staff in Brussels. The program included:
- National accounting and building a social accounting matrix;
- Building and using a CGE model;
- Using the GAMS software for CGE modelling;
- Using the Cameroon model for simulating EPA scenarios.
